Mod 1 CCR Diver Training - 40 meter (132')

Unit Specific Meg, Pathfinder, Tiburon, rEvo

The objective of this course is to train divers and to develop basic rebreather diving skills appropriate to diving within the normal recreational depth limits for diving to 40 metres / 132 feet using oxygen and air diluent. Training is with IANTD

Note due to ISC standards that they have endorsed via RESA there is a minimum of 2 students to run a course. A diver can purchase two classes for a private course.

*Prerequisite - Minimum - IANTD Advanced EANx Diver ( or equivalent TDI Adv EANx & Deco Procedures)

  • TDI Understanding Rebreathers -home study book with Knowledge Quest quiz booklet - purchased separately.
  • Theory review in classroom, paperwork approximately 6 hours, with 2 hour equipment session
  • Minimum of 60 minutes confined water training to a maximum of 9 meters / 30 feet
  • Minimum of 400 minutes open water training, to be completed over a minimum of 7 dives with a gradual increase in depth each day to a maximum of 40 meters / 100 - 130feet

*Note See Option to add Adv Nitrox Prerequisite to course in conjunction with Mod 1 training. Extra Dives required. Text books purchased separately Add $495 to course fee for additional training, and certification fee

Monday 9:30 am - classroom registration, waivers, theory review - Lunch break - Equipment set up,

2:00 pm Ginny Springs 1 hour pool skills, Post dive maintenance

Tuesday - Blue Grotto 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Wednesday - Blue Grotto 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Thursday - Buford Sink 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Friday - Orange Grove 9:00 am - 3:30 - one open water dives - Post dive clean up, review test and final paperwork

*We stay at a trailer home in High Springs area with two twin beds for divers, with their own private bathroom, and instructor stays in other bedroom with private bath. Large kitchen area and table for classroom, diver shed for gear storage. $525 shared expense for students.

Wednesday 9:30 am - classroom registration, waivers, theory review - Lunch break - Equipment set up, 1 hour pool skills, Post dive maintenance

Thursday 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Friday 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Saturday 9:30 am - 4:30 - two open water dives - dinner break - 6:30 - 9:30 theory review, quiz reviews

Sunday 9:00 am - 3:30 - one open water dives - Post dive clean up, review test and final paperwork

*we stay at the Findlay Drury Inn where the instructor has a room with classroom - this is $595 split by students - Students are also responsible for their lodging at Drury Inn, Daily passes to Gilboa Quarry, gas, sorb,


Bonaire CCR Week - Option -

Saturday Flight arrival -check into Buddy Dive - evening cocktails overlooking ocean

Sunday 8:00 am - buffet breakfast - 9:30 am - dive registration, waivers, pick up CCR cylinders, absorbent, dive weights at Buddy Tech. Set up Poseidon CCR, prep for beachfront "confined water" skills. Lunch break - Afternoon - prep for dive #1 shore dive - evening 1 hour classroom - Dinner at waterfront restaurant

Monday 8:00 am - buffet breakfast - 9:30 am - pick up fresh filled CCR cylinders, new absorbent, set up Poseidon CCR, prep for shore dive at "Andrea" complete dives #2 & #3 . Return Buddy Dive drop cylinders, rinse and post dive. 2 hour classroom, review quizzes. Dinner at Bon Pizza

Tuesday 8:00 am - buffet breakfast - 9:30 am - pick up fresh filled CCR cylinders, new absorbent, set up Poseidon CCR, prep for shore dive at Hilma Hooker - Dive to shipwreck Hilma Hooker for super long dive #4 for final dive of course. Fun dive #5 on Hilma and expanded dive down the reef to look for eagle rays, sharks, and giant green moray eel. Return Buddy Dive drop cylinders, rinse and post dive. 2 hour classroom, review final exam. Dinner at Osaka Sushi and Tepen Yaki to celebrate Mod 1 training!

Wednesday 8:00 am - buffet breakfast - 9:30 am - pick up fresh filled CCR cylinders, new absorbent, set up Poseidon CCR, prep for shore dive at Oil Slick and group votes on option to do 1 three hour dive and swim to Buddy Dive, or do two dives on site. Return Buddy Dive drop cylinders, rinse and post dive. Evening optional can go solo or join group for Italian .

Thursday - optional day for more ccr diver experience

Friday - optional day for one more morning ccr dive before wrap up, clean and dry for travel home

Summary - 1 1/2 hour confined beach dive for skills, 4 open water dives of 1 1/2 - 2 hours each + 5 more optional fun dives for 10 -12 additional hours experience. Total 22 hours underwater time!

In Bonaire you will at minimum double the amount of bottom time of regular training course. We typically stay at an Air BnB shared oceanfront or Condos with shared mini jeep for shore diving. The students split the condo and jeep rental, vehicle gas, and additional fees for rental cylinders, gas fills, sorb on island are approximately $1000 - $1500 per student.

*Students are responsible for all gas fills, sorb, batteries, dive site entry fees, personal travel, lodging, meals, and depending on location the instructor classroom / lodging, other may apply - ask.
